Bad News - Santa Still Gone!

Mrs. Claus, Ali Elf Search and Search

[Bad News - Santa Still Gone!]

Mrs. Claus sat down on the park bench and sighed. All around her, men and women and boys and girls were heading home. Some of them had bags full of presents for their loved ones. Most of them were smiling.

And why wouldn't they smile? It was Christmastime!

Mrs. Claus didn't feel like smiling. But she smiled anyway when Ali Elf came and sat next to her. The city made Mrs. Claus feel itchy. It was so loud and busy! Ali didn't seem to mind it though. In fact, even though it was a very important and serious mission they were on, she almost seemed to be enjoying herself.

Ali handed Mrs. Claus a small paper cup filled with hot tea, and sipped something from a much larger paper cup.

"What is that you're drinking, Ali?" asked Mrs. Claus.

"It's a double-half-decaf-soy-mocha-latte with a shot of vanilla," said Ali.

"That sounds like English," said Mrs. Claus, doubtfully, but I didn't understand a word of it."

"It's a type of coffee," said Ali. "We don't have it at the North Pole."

"We don't have Santa at the North Pole either," said Mrs. Claus, sadly. "And we can't seem to find him here."

So the two decided to call Bernard Elf at the North Pole, and tell them the bad news.

[by Eugene Elf] "I think we need to get you some more help," said Bernard on the telephone. "I'm going to have Holly get the Santa Spotters to start looking for him!"

"Be sure to have her tell them that Santa will not be acting very much like Santa, and that's how to tell he's Santa," said Mrs. Claus.

"I...er...yes, I think that's right," said Bernard. "After all, he's not really Santa. He's Waldo Elf inside Santa's body! And I hope Jiller Elf can find Waldo so we can try to swap them back!"

Will the Santa Spotters help find Santa in time for Christmas? Keep reading The North Pole Times to find out!
