[Don't worry, Toby]

Don't worry, Toby

Sorry, Mrs. Claus, but...

The residents of Santa's village ran to help Toby, who splashed into the lake. But when they arrived, the water had already frozen along with the elf inside it. Waldo took the ice saw and began to cut the frozen surface. And when he edged the ice around Toby, he wrapped it with the rope, tying a tight knot.

The others lined up and began to pull, holding the rope. They pulled and pulled until they pulled the frozen elf out.

"Are you okay?" Waldo asked his friend, but Toby just blinked, stuck in the iceberg. "Don't worry, Toby. We'll get you out."

The elves dragged the iceberg to the room and placed it by the fireplace. They brought twigs and stumps and lit a fire. But the iceberg wasn't melting as fast as they thought it would. So the elves had to think of another way to free Toby from the frozen trap.

"Hmm, what else could melt the ice?" Waldo mused, and then he got it.

[by Elvin Elf]

He took all the candles off the Christmas tree, lit all the lanterns he could find, and borrowed the hot-water bottle Santa used to warm his chubby belly. He went to the kitchen and put the kettle on to heat up. While the water was simmering on the stove, Waldo was looking for some other heaters. Rushing around Santa's village, he spotted Mrs. Claus in a hair salon.

"Sorry, Mrs. Claus, but your hairdo will have to wait a bit," Waldo said and snatched the hair dryer.

He hurried outside, leaving Mrs. Claus puzzled.

Surrounded by candles, lanterns, a fireplace, and a blowing hair dryer, Toby patiently waited to be freed from the iceberg as the ice slowly melted drop by drop.

Will Toby finally get rid of the ice trap? Find out tomorrow, ONLY on the North Pole Times.
