On the Third Day of Christmas: French Hens

Santa Teaches the Virtues of Faith, Hope, and Love

On the third day of Christmas, Santa gathered the elves together and announced, “On the third day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, three French hens!”

Suddenly, three elegant French hens appeared, strutting around the village with feathers shining in the winter glow.

“These hens are very special,” Santa explained with a twinkle in his eye. “In the Christmas carol, they represent the theological virtues of faith, hope, and love.”

The elves gathered closer, listening carefully. Santa continued, “Faith helps us believe in the good even when we can’t see it. Hope gives us the strength to keep going, even when the road is tough. And love… love is the greatest gift of all, bringing us closer to one another and to God.”

The elves smiled, feeling inspired. They knew that just like the hens, these virtues were important to carry every day. “Faith, hope, and love,” they repeated. “We will keep them in our hearts, today and always.”

As the day ended, the elves worked together to decorate the village, each one filled with a renewed sense of faith, hope, and love—just like the French hens.
