Reindeer Games Come to an Exciting Close

Closing Ceremonies Tomorrow

[Reindeer Games Come to an Exciting Close]

And now for the final day of the Reindeer Games. Today our eighth and final event – the 2,222-Mile Marathon will conclude at the North Pole. The winner will be our final gold medalist of the games. And then tomorrow, we will have our Closing Ceremonies, where all the reindeer will be honored for their superb efforts in the very exciting competition. Today, the 2,222-Mile Marathon will conclude with the third leg of the race from Maine to the North Pole. “It should be an exciting finish,” said Rudolph. Waiting for the reindeer at the North Pole will be a packed house at the Ice Palace, where the Official Elves will be ready at the finish line. Okay, we’re ready. And they’re off! Zooming out and over Maine and into Canada are the Great Eight. It’s out over Quebec and over the Hudson Bay and within minutes, they are within site of the North Pole. “I think I can see the pack,” said an excited Rudolph. “It’s going to very close.” Indeed it is. Now within miles of the North Pole, the race is antler-to-antler. And now just a 100 yards from the finish line, it’s still close as could be! “Oh my, I can’t see who’s in first place,” said Rudolph. “Any deer could win.” [by Timbo Elf] Heading into the stadium to a roaring crowd, it’s indeed close, but just at the very, very end, it seems that Donder leans an antler forward and takes first place just ahead of Dasher. The Official Elves are not sure who has won, though, as the reindeer were going very, very fast. But they check the Super Replay Machine and indeed Donder is the eighth and final gold medal winner of this year's Reindeer Games. “The crowd is going wild,” screamed Rudolph. “What a great finish to the games.” Donder is joined by our other seven gold medal winners -- Cupid in the High Jump, Vixen in the Long Jump, Comet in the Sprint Race, Blitzen in the Around-the-World Marathon, Prancer in the Figure Skating competition, Dasher in the Speed Skating event and Dancer in the Obstacle Course. Check back tomorrow when all are honored in our Closing Ceremonies!
