Reindeer Games: Figure Skating Gold Winner!

Dancer Wins Gold in the Figure Skating Final

So far, we’ve completed four exciting events in the Reindeer Games, with four gold medal winners: Prancer in the High Jump, Cupid in the Long Jump, Dasher in the Sprint Race, and Donder in the Around the World Marathon.

Today, in the final round of the Figure Skating competition at the Hoojamawazit Skating and Ice Cream Palace, we’ll crown the fifth gold medal winner of the Games. Let’s head to the rink for the thrilling action!

As we know, the elves have been busy in the workshop making toys for Christmas, which has kept them away from judging duties. So, Rudolph has kindly stepped in to fill the role of judge.

But today will be Rudolph’s toughest challenge yet. Coming into the final round of the Figure Skating competition, all eight reindeer are tied for first place! Today’s final skate, the “long program,” will decide the winner.

In the long program, each reindeer must skate for three minutes, performing a series of daring and impressive tricks to earn Rudolph's judgment.

Up first is Cupid, followed by Donder. Both skaters perform admirably, completing a series of jumps and spins. Cupid earns a score of 9.2 (out of 10), while Donder gets a 9.3.

Next is Dasher, who delivers a spectacular performance with 3 triple flips and 2 double wannamakers. The crowd roars with applause as Dasher scores a near-perfect 9.9!

Then it’s Blitzen, Vixen, Comet, and Prancer’s turn. Each reindeer dazzles with their moves. Scores: Blitzen 9.5, Vixen 9.5, Comet 9.6, and Prancer 9.4.

Finally, it’s Dancer’s turn to skate. She does not disappoint, completing 4 double backflips, 3 double button-makers, and an incredible whirling maneuver that few have ever seen. The crowd holds its breath as Rudolph deliberates. After some tense moments, Rudolph announces the score: a perfect 10!

And with that, Dancer is crowned the winner of the gold medal in Figure Skating! Dasher takes a proud second place.

With only three events left in the Games, be sure to check back tomorrow for the first round of the Speed Skating competition, also at the Hoojamawazit Skating and Ice Cream Palace. Then, it’s on to the Obstacle Course and the 2222 Mile Marathon!
