When Santa and Waldo drifted into orbit aboard the Santa Shuttle, the North Pole knew exactly who to call back into service: the Santa Spotters. Their job? Track Santa’s path across the sky—even when that sky is far above the clouds.
I hurried to meet Holly Elf, our Chief Santa Spotter, to see how the effort was going. As always, she spotted me first.
“We’ve got Santa Spotters everywhere!” she said proudly. Holly held up a giant sheet of graph paper, covered in zig-zagging lines, scribbled names, and bright little stars. She tapped one mark. “Here! Santa was spotted by Caiman in Cincinnati, Ohio.” She pointed to another. “And here—Michael saw him passing right over Caloundra in Queensland, Australia!”
I leaned closer. “That’s incredible! So… what does all of it mean?”

Holly’s smile wavered for a moment. “Well… I’m not exactly sure yet. I was going to ask Gizmo, but he’s busy building the rescue rocket. Then I thought about Timbo Elf—he knows tons about flying—but he’s running the reindeer games this week.” She sighed. “There’s really no one left to help me analyze this.”
“You mean no one at the North Pole can help us find Santa?”
“Well…” Holly brightened. “That’s why I called NORAD!”
I blinked. “The North American Aerospace Defense Command?”
“Exactly!” Holly chirped. “They track Santa every Christmas Eve, so they know a thing or two about finding him now. That’s the great thing about being a Santa Spotter—there’s always a way to spot a solution!”
Will NORAD help us locate Santa and Waldo in orbit? Keep reading the North Pole Times to find out!
