The Workshop was unusually quiet as Mrs. Claus and Jiller Elf stepped inside. Rows of benches—normally buzzing with cheerful toy-making this close to Christmas—sat still, covered in half-finished treasures. Through the frosted windows, they could see the elves marching in a determined little circle, holding up signs protesting the new snack rules.
“‘Candy Not Carrots.’” Jiller read aloud, shaking her head. “I don’t think they appreciated your idea of swapping sweets for vegetables.”
“At least the signs are beautifully crafted,” Mrs. Claus said gently. “And good news—Gizmo says the rescue craft will be ready soon. Once Santa and Waldo finish their mission and return home, everything can settle back into place.”
Jiller nodded. “The Santa Spotters are doing excellent work, too. They’re tracking Santa’s whereabouts every moment, so we’ll know exactly when and where to guide him back.”
Mrs. Claus paused beside a workbench, fingertips brushing a tiny wooden train. “But when he arrives… will there be enough toys? If the elves don’t get back to work, many children on the Nice List may wake to empty stockings.”
“And there’s no one else who can make toys quite like our elves,” Jiller sighed. “Right now, the chances of a merry Christmas feel pretty abominable.”

Mrs. Claus suddenly straightened, eyes sparkling with an idea. “Abominable… You know, Jiller… that might be exactly what we need!”
And with that, she hurried out the door—boots tapping quickly down the snowy path.
What has Mrs. Claus just thought of? Could it really help save Christmas?
