Dear readers…
After the week I’ve just had, I’ve decided that TT is more likely to stand for Terrifying Toboggan than Terrific Toboggan! Picture the scene. I was in *city* and had just recorded a particularly amazing good deed. It was *name* who *story* and I’d like to publicly reward them with a Special Super Santa Service Shout-out!! This means that - as well as *name* getting their name on Santa’s Nice List - it gets underlined three times so Santa takes special note.
After that, I pressed the start button to set off on the toboggan.
The TT, however, had other ideas. It decided that traveling forwards was far too normal. Instead, it chose to go into full-on reverse. I shot backwards through the streets like a dog avoiding bath time, much to the delight of the local children who gleefully cheered, “Look, it’s Toomer! The elf who can’t drive!!”
“Can’t drive? That’s a bit harsh!” I muttered as the TT smashed backwards through a nearby hedge, sending branches and leaves flying in all directions.
But, it’s hard to argue with a comment like that when you’re hanging on to your steering wheel for dear life and you’ve just created an elf-shaped hole by crashing backwards through a hedge.
I was desperate to understand my toboggan’s tantrum. Why was it behaving like this? Suddenly, I had a brainwave: why not review the dashcam footage from the hailstorm I mentioned last week? With the flick of a switch and my fingers crossed, I rewound the footage and watched as the tiny screen flickered to life.
The screen began by showing my driving skills at their best. I was going forwards this time – gliding through the hailstorm, blissfully unaware of what was about to happen. And then I saw it!! A hailstone, slightly larger than a golf ball, plummeted from the sky and struck the TT’s computer. CRAAAAACK!! The TT trembled and a flash of red lights signaled the start of the chaos.
At that moment, it all clicked – one hailstone had set off a chain reaction. All I had to do was fix the problem with the computer and then all would hopefully return to normal. I could finish Santa’s Good List in time for Christmas…
I may have been stuck in reverse, but I wasn’t stuck any more about where to find the solution…
Until next week…
Toomer

After the week I’ve just had, I’ve decided that TT is more likely to stand for Terrifying Toboggan than Terrific Toboggan! Picture the scene. I was in Hong Kong and had just recorded a particularly amazing good deed. It was Kai who helped their elderly neighbour tidy their yard and I’d like to publicly reward them with a Special Super Santa Service Shout-out!! This means that - as well as Kai getting their name on Santa’s Nice List - it gets underlined three times so Santa takes special note.
After that, I pressed the start button to set off on the toboggan.
