2. Beat butter until creamy. Add sugar, egg and vanilla. Beat well.
3. Add flour one cup at a time and mix well.
4. Dough will be very soft. Fill cookie press and press dough 1 inch apart on cookie ungreased sheet.
5. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until firm but not brown.
6. Remove from the oven and let sit for about 1 minute then move to the cooling rack. Decorate
